Fuqua on Board develops the next generation of thoughtful, effective nonprofit board members while delivering meaningful value to local organizations.

Fuqua on Board is a hands-on board leadership development program at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.  Through FOB, Duke MBA students serve as non-voting Board Fellows for Triangle-area nonprofits, working closely with board mentors and engaging directly in board and committee meetings. Over the course of the year, students contribute to governance discussions, support strategic priorities, and gain a deep understanding of nonprofit leadership in practice.

FOB Fellows bring fresh perspectives, analytical rigor, and practical business skills to their nonprofit board while gaining meaningful exposure to the opportunities and challenges nonprofits face.  Throughout the program, students receive structured training, coaching, and peer support to ensure they contribute effectively and respectfully to their nonprofit partner organization.

Fuqua on Board is facilitated by CASE at Duke, an award-winning research and education center based at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business focused on preparing leaders and organizations with the business skills needed to achieve lasting social change.
