The FOB Program runs on a calendar year cycle. Because of shifts in the 2020-21 Academic Calendar due to COVID-19, the FOB program timeline will be adjusted slightly. Exact dates and details are TBD, but a high-level outline of program activities for September 2020 – October 2021 is as follows:
|September 2020 - November 2020||Nonprofits apply to participate in FOB.|
|November 2020 - December 2020||Student application and interview process.|
|January 8, 2021||Matching decisions announced. Nonprofits may be required to provide orientation materials and schedule an introductory calls with students.|
|January 27, 2021||Mandatory Program Launch event for all FOB participants.|
|February 2021 - May 2021||Students connect with board mentor and nonprofit organization to confirm assignments and expectations and begin attending board and/or committee meetings.|
|September 2021 - October 2021||Students continue attending board and committee meetings, FOB training and coaching sessions.|
Note: No official FOB activities are scheduled during the students’ Winter (mid-December to mid-January) and Summer breaks (May – August). During the summer break, students are engaged in summer internships, but are encouraged to stay engaged remotely as able or relevant. The program ends in late October.
