Duke Pond

Completed in 2015, the 5.5 acre Duke Reclamation Pond collects rainfall and West Campus runoff  as part of a Duke sustainability project and provides up to 100 million gallons of water annually to the Duke chiller plant.  Visitors to the Duke Pond are treated to a pavilion, a bridge, a boardwalk and amphitheater, along with a 0.6 walking path surrounding the water.

From the School of Nursing, it’s fairly significant walk through campus.  You can also reach it easily by walking on Erwin Road past Duke Hospital.  Keep walking and The Pond is roughly across the street from Lenox Baker.

It’s worth a visit – it’s a great place for a team meeting or a quiet walk.
