Duke Nature

We want to extend our deepest appreciation to everyone who supported and attended Duke Nature events! April saw an incredible month of programming focused on our on-campus natural places. These events were made possible by our incredible students, faculty, staff, and alumni to which we owe a round of applause.

If you would like to follow up and learn more about Duke Nature, please reach out to Gabriel Campos at gabriel.campos@duke.edu.

What is Duke Nature?

Duke Nature is an interdisciplinary program that spotlights the integration of the natural world on our campus. Through excursions, panels, exhibitions and even a festival, this program invites community to share unique perspectives and insights with their peers, across North Carolina and Kunshan, China.

Mission

  1. Celebrate Duke’s natural spaces through the arts, sciences, and humanities
  2. Empower community to engage with and rethink personal relationships with nature
  3. Foster more informed environmental stewardship by advancing accessibility of on-campus natural spaces
