Center Co-Director Connects the Dots at NCAHP’s Statewide Pathways Summit

The Center for Pathway Programs took the stage at the recent NC Alliance for Health Professions Statewide Pathways Summit, sharing our collaborative approach to building a more connected and effective pathway ecosystem for future healthcare professionals.

The 2025 NC Alliance for Health Professions Pathways Summit, held on October 14, 2025, at North Carolina A&T State University, brought together students, educators, advisors, and workforce leaders to strengthen the continuum from education to employment in healthcare. The summit, themed “Connecting Talent with Opportunity: Building a Sustainable Healthcare Workforce,” featured engaging plenaries and breakout sessions, including a presentation by Center Co-Director Amber Richardson entitled “Connecting the Dots, Catalyzing Impact.”

Richardson’s session focused on a critical challenge in pathway work: the lack of long-term data and continuity between programs. Too often, success depends on chance encounters and isolated opportunities. How can we prove our impact if we can’t track a learner’s journey from start to finish? The presentation journeyed through the creation of The Center and the evolution of its offerings — all aimed at addressing common problems in the pathways ecosystem.

This year’s summit emphasized the importance of connecting talent to opportunity and addressing the need for better data on pathway program ROI. Review the conference takeaways to explore presentations and leave-behinds, and visit NCAHP to become a member of the Alliance.
