Hi! My name is Elena Karas and I am a junior at Duke University. I am studying biology and computer science and plan to go to medical school. As a community resource navigator for Help Desk, I look forward to assisting fellow Durham residents in overcoming health barriers and achieving access to resources that support the healthy life everyone deserves. While doing this, I hope to strengthen my understanding on the social determinants of health in preparation for a career as a healthcare provider. Outside of class I enjoy weightlifting, baking, and going on long walks, preferably to get a coffee!
