Hi! I’m Gabriela Ferreira La Rota, a freshman at Duke studying Biomedical Engineering. I’m from Des Moines, Iowa, and I joined Help Desk because I’ve seen how lack of access to basic needs like transportation, education, and healthcare affected my family and my community. I want to help bridge those gaps and connect people with the resources they deserve. I enjoy hearing people’s stories, learning from different cultures, and spending time skateboarding or climbing. After Duke, I hope to go to grad school and work on creating affordable medical devices that make healthcare more accessible.
