Hello! My name is Estrella Santibanez, and I am a current freshman (Class of 2029) at Duke. Although I haven’t declared a major yet, I’m considering pursuing a double major in Biology and Global Health. I wanted to become a Help Desk Volunteer because I saw the opportunity to be part of meaningful and impactful service. Through this experience, I hope to deepen my understanding of the resources available to patients, learn how to conduct motivational interviews effectively, and gain foundational experience essential to becoming a caring, mindful, and aware healthcare professional. Some of my interests include learning new styles of dance, breaking out into random songs, rock climbing, and exploring sweet-treat places! During my time at Duke, I hope to gain more hands-on experience in global health work, explore my interests, make genuine connections, and learn as much as I can about myself.
