AISHA OVANDO
Neuroscience (B.S.), Class of 2025

Hi my name is Aisha Ovando and I am part of the 2025 class at Duke! I am majoring in neuroscience and minoring in chemistry. I have previously worked with the Root Causes Fresh Produce Program in packaging and distributing bags and personalized crates of fresh produce to low-income patients referred from the Lincoln Health Community Center. This experience showed me that I wanted to continue working with the patients in this community, specifically the underserved patients. Therefore, I applied to be a Help Desk Volunteer! Being a native Spanish speaker, I aspire to strengthen my language proficiency to support the Hispanic community while also striving to enhance my healthcare communication abilities as a whole. In my free time, I enjoy reading mystery novels and going out to eat with my friends! After college, I hope to attend medical school and work in the field of cardiology.
