I wanted to become a Help Desk Volunteer because health shapes our bodies, our needs, and our wellness everyday, no matter the location, and I would like systems dedicated to improving health to be able to do the same. So much of how we experience the world around us is mediated by how we are feeling, and this is contingent upon our ability to access the support we need to sustain health. By being a volunteer, I want to be able to create a relationship of mutual benefit with members and organizations in the community where everyone involved can feel better and experience the network they need to optimize their health. I am passionate about neuroscience and medicine because of a goal to help people feel better together, and attention to a more holistic approach to healthcare can help accomplish that goal. Ultimately, I hope to become a pediatric neurologist and practice clinically, and I am an avid explorer of narrative medicine which I would love to integrate into my work.
