My name is Govind Gurnani, and I’m a third-year EvAnth major, with 2 years working with Help Desk. Through my work in the ER as a resource navigator and on EMS teams, I’ve learned that many of the health issues we see are closely tied to broader social challenges. I’ve met patients whose health concerns were influenced by things like housing instability, limited access to healthy food or regular medical care. These experiences have made me especially interested in enhancing Help Desk, which already plays an important role in addressing these upstream factors.
