After working at a federally qualified health center over the summer, I’ve realized the importance of the social determinants of health to overall well-being. While I’m not yet a physician and cannot provide medical care, Help Desk provides a way for me to care for, assist, and form longitudinal relationships with patients. As Communications Director this year, I look forward to streamlining and optimizing communications among all key stakeholders in our program, including the executive board, volunteers, site partners, and patients.
