ROSIE SMOLOWITZ

Patient Advocacy Director, Psychology (B.S.) & Global Health (B.A.), Class of 2028

Hey! I’m Rosie Smolowitz (she/her) and I’m from Charlotte, North Carolina. I am planning to major in both Global Health and Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. Unfortunately, in my healthcare experiences, I have witnessed first-hand the direct impact that the social determinants of health can have on families and individuals. Through Help Desk, I want to do my part to help others gain access to affordable, equitable and accessible care without being restricted by external factors. I joined leadership to enrich the patient experience, for both English and Spanish speakers, and work to ensure that language barriers do not hinder connections with community resource navigators or access to the effective resources they offer. I also want to help others become part of such an incredible organization, so that together we can help more patients receive better care. In the future, I am striving to become an Emergency Room doctor and focus on improving both the mental and physical health of my patients.
