My name is Anika (she/her) and I’m a sophomore at Duke majoring in Biomedical Engineering. As someone interested in the intersections of medicine, technology, and social determinants of health, I joined Help Desk leadership because I wanted to be part of a team that not only bridges gaps in healthcare access but also enables students to make a tangible impact in patient lives. As an Endocrine Site Coordinator, I hope to help build continuity in our work, ensuring every volunteer feels equipped, supported, and confident in their ability to advocate for patients. I love how collaborative and supportive volunteering with Help Desk felt for me, and hope to bring the same to current and future volunteers as well!
