My name is Rachel Solecki, and I am in the Class of 2023 here at Duke.  I am a Biology major with a concentration in Genetics and a minor in Chemistry, following a pre-health track.  I am excited to be a Help Desk Volunteer because I am interested in learning more about the social determinants of health, especially in the Durham area where I have been a part of the community for the last three years.  I look forward to gaining clinical experience and interacting with patients, while at the same time being able to make a difference in the Duke Hospital setting.  Aside from school work, I enjoy baking and reading in my free time, and I am also a member of the Duke Women’s Club Lacrosse team.  After graduation this spring, I hope to work in a clinical research setting before transitioning to medical school.
