Thomas Walpuski will be Professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin starting from 2020-09-01. He received his PhD from Imperial College London in 2013 under the supervision of Simon Donaldson. After a further year at Imperial as a Research Associate and a research visit to the Simons Center for Geometry and Physics, he went on to be a CLE Moore Instructor at MIT. In 2017, he joined the faculty at Michigan State University and moves to Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in September 2020. Walpuski is a recipient of the 2018 Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship.
Walpuski’s research revolves around geometric analysis, gauge theory, and special holonomy.
