Brett Koermer, PT, DPT is a senior level II physical therapist at Duke University Hospital. He received his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Duke University in 2017 and is a board-certified clinical specialist in cardiovascular and pulmonary physical therapy. After graduation, Brett completed Duke’s Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency and is presently our team lead in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. Additional appointments for Brett include adjunct faculty at the University of Mary DPT program. He has experiences with local and national presentations, assisting Duke’s DPT program, textbook chapter authorship and numerous research studies. Brett’s passions include clinical education and promoting evidence-based early mobility practices. Brett is the mentor for the inpatient MICU rotation of Duke’s Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Residency.
