I will be introducing risk management topic to the attendees, as risk is something that has high stakes in healthcare industry. As project is a new endeavor, it is often associated with unknowns and uncertainties, which in turn, can lead to risks. As such, risk management is integral to project management by definition.
Attendees will learn to develop a list of risks associated with a project, and prioritize them based on probability and impact (qualitative analysis). They will also learn about quantitative analysis of prioritized risks and risk mitigation strategies.

Understand what is a risk and how it can be managed in the context of a project.
About the Speaker
Dr. Vittal S. Anantatmula is a full professor at Western Carolina University, a campus of University of North Carolina. He has been teaching and publishing research on project management topics including risk management. He also worked as a project manager in petroleum industry for several years and as a consultant for a large multinational engineering company.
He received his Master's and PhD in engineering management from George Washington University, Washington, DC and is a project management professional (PMP) since 2005. He has been working as a volunteer for PMI since 2012.
