About us:
Duke University is a world renowned research institution with 2 recent Nobel prize laureates. Currently, we are looking for a Postdoctoral Associate with expertise in deep learning to participate in a federally-funded research program focused on development of machine learning tools and their application to medical imaging, cancer radiogenomics, and adaptive computer-aided education.
Qualifications:
The candidate for this position will be a highly motivated individual with a track record of academic achievements and a Ph.D. degree (or will be in the process of completing a Ph.D. program) in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering, biomedical informatics, biostatistics or a related discipline.
Required qualifications include (1) expertise and experience in machine learning, (2) experience with deep learning, (3) proficiency in computer programming, (4) good verbal and written communication skills, (5) one or more first-author journal papers published or accepted for publication in a good international journal or multiple papers in top conferences in computer science.
Job description:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will apply his/her technical skills toward development and implementation of machine learning, computer vision, and other algorithms for analysis of medical images and prognostication as well as to other tasks related to this research program in order to solve important clinically relevant problems. He/she will work in association with the newly formed Duke Center for Artificial Intelligence in Radiology in a thriving research and clinical environment where he/she will be able to interact with researchers as well as clinicians. This appointment will allow for improving the candidate’s engineering skills as well as becoming familiar with current health care problems.
