We are less than a week away from the start of COP-22, and six of our students are getting reading to depart for Marrakech, Morocco this week. We have spent the past two months learning the history of the climate change negotiations, where we are today, and the key issues that will be discussed at COP-22 over the next two weeks. Our students have been actively preparing to support their client organizations in a variety of ways, including crafting policy memos, preparing research, supporting the development and execution of side events, and more.
Here’s who we’ll be working with at COP-22 this year:
Week 1 Crew:
Delfina Cuglievan: ConexionCOP (with the Peruvian Delegation)
Jade Lu: Environmental Defense Fund
Megan Nasgovitz: Climate Analytics
Tanya Marwah: International Union for Conservation of Nature (Ecosystems-based Adaptation)
Emily Pechar (course leader)
Week 2 Crew:
Adam Fischer: World Resources Institute
Bella Tan: Greenpeace China
Diana Tarrazo: The Climate Registry
Jeremy Iloulian: The National Resources Defense Council
Ryan Callihan: Resources for the Future
Ewan Kingston (course leader)
Once we get to the COP, we’ll be posting a daily summary of our activities and the negotiations, as well as longer in-depth pieces about certain topics that the students are focusing on. Please use the comments feature to let us know what you think, ask questions, and more! You can also subscribe to our posts through the RSS feed on the right.
We will also be posting more informally on our facebook page (Like us!): facebook.com/duketotheunfccc
