Motivated by a shared desire to improve the food system, Duke Food Law Society is a student organization that serves as a hub to exchange ideas, knowledge, and practical skills relevant to the legal issues surrounding food. Events focus on current food law and policy issues related to the environment, health, agriculture, food safety, and food waste. Duke Food Law Society supports a network of students, professionals and food-lovers who support a healthier, more equitable food system—both in the Durham community and nationally. Members participate in research projects, attend conferences, host speakers, and collaborate with groups throughout the University and the world in their effort to address food issues. Membership is open to all interested students.
