A lot of the time writing doesn’t look like writing at all.

Writing often looks like going for a walk by the river, a deep conversation, or a train ride. Depending on what you are writing, where you are in the process, and how you like to incubate, research and create your work, writing can look like almost anything.  — Beth Kempton (with minor edits for brevity)

We are now planning our Fall 2026 writing groups.  What do you need to support your writing?

  • A dissertation (or prelim) writing group?
  • A feedback group for grant proposals?
  • A weekly check-in for accountability on your writing progress?
  • Regular meetings where you write beside other writers?

If any of these interest you, please email Julie.a.Reynolds@duke.edu.  Happy writing!
