- Compare and contrast the effects of alcohol on an adolescent versus an adult
After participating in this module, it is expected that students may be able to:
- Explain the difference between short and long-term memory
- Plan an experiment to test whether hippocampal damage is the cause or the effect of excessive alcohol drinking
- Develop an experimental plan to determine if hippocampal damage associated with drinking alcohol is reversible
- Explain how an MRI scanner obtains an image
- Predict the risk of alcoholism with respect to the age of onset of drinking
