Recently, mobile health technology has proven to help Veterans who have experienced trauma. Due to the success of this technology, researchers at Duke University and the Veterans Affairs created the Cancer Distress Coach app. This app was created to be a useful tool that offers help coping with the stress of cancer. This is the leading app to help patients cope from the stress of cancer and trauma of stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
Researchers at Duke University (NC) and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (NY) are leading a research study to see if this Cancer Distress Coach app can reduce stress symptoms in transplant survivors and improve their quality of life.
A more detailed explanation of the app as treatment is in the Treatment section.
The Cancer Distress Coach has been tested and reviewed by other cancer survivors. See the report in the Durham Herald-Sun.
