Registration deadline is June 1, 2022.
All participants are encouraged to contribute an abstract for a poster or 3-5 minute speed talk – the deadline for title and abstract submission is the same as the registration deadline (June 1, 2022). Abstracts are submitted through the registration portal.
- The combined fee for registration and accommodation is $1,050 USD.
- This fee covers all accommodation for the period from the night of Monday, July 18th, through the morning of Thursday, July 21st.
- All meals and coffee and tea breaks are included. Other costs (e.g. newspapers, golf, telephone calls, and drinks) are not included in the fee.
- Each registrant is provided their own single occupancy room with an en suite bathroom and free Wi-Fi access.
- We have a slightly lower cost for local participants (from Duke, UNC-CH, NCSU, NCCU) of $800 that includes meals and facilities (just not the sleeping accommodations). We do expect local participants to fully participate in the meals, presentations, and activities. Local participants are welcome to register for the option including accommodation if they wish to stay overnight at the hotel accommodations.
- We anticipate being able to reimburse some costs based on our success with securing funding. We will first focus our funding efforts on supporting early career researchers and individuals from under-represented groups in academia. Feel free to contact us for further details.

The symposium will be held at the Washington Duke Inn & Golf Club, described as “a tranquil retreat nestled on 300 acres of tall pines and hardwoods on the edge of the Duke Forest. Conveniently located on the campus of Duke University, the Inn is designed to reflect the quiet elegance of an English country estate.”
