The JMP Academic Program previously provided by our vendor has been discontinued. In its place, Duke University now supports the JMP Student Edition, which offers the same features and functionality as the JMP Pro academic license that was previously in use.

Key Information:

• JMP Student Edition is available at no cost for faculty, students, and academic researchers.
• It can be installed on personal computers as well as lab and classroom machines.
• This version is a direct replacement for the JMP Pro academic license, supporting all the same academic use cases.
• Renewal files are no longer available through Duke OIT.

The new key will expire on 9/30/26. This software is available for use by Duke University faculty, staff, and students for Duke-related academic purposes only. The distribution or use of this key outside of Duke will result in a permanent loss of the software for the university.

We have renewed Duke’s annual Stata/SE license for the year, and the new authorization codes and installers are now available for purchase on the software distribution site.

If you purchased a Stata/SE license within 3 months of the expiration date, then your purchase includes a renewal license that may be used to extend the expiration date of your software until July 23, 2026. Renewal authorization codes/installers will be emailed to anyone who purchased Stata/SE within this grace period.

ConnectWise, the provider of ScreenConnect remote support software, has announced an upcoming update for on-premises installations of the ScreenConnect server. This update includes:

• Digital signing Certificate updates
• Digital certificate rotation scheduled for June 13, 2025
• Release of update to improve how configuration data is managed within the platform

Departments who are running their own ScreenConnect server instance are strongly recommended to upgrade.

ConnectWise, the vendor that provides ScreenConnect remote support software, has announced a high priority security update for on prem installations of ScreenConnect server.

For departments who are running their own ScreenConnect server instance we strongly recommend upgrading to the most current release of 25.2.4 as soon as possible.

To upgrade to version 25.2.4, please note there is a specific upgrade path that must be followed:

22.8 → 23.3 → 25.2.4

Version 18 of DNASTAR’s Lasergene Structural Biology Suite is now available on the software distribution site here.  This software is available to Duke faculty, staff, and students at no cost through OIT.

Adobe has discontinued its Creative Cloud Synced Files service. If you don’t use Creative Cloud Synced Files, please note that this change will not affect you. If you are unsure whether your Adobe assets are impacted, check to see if you have synced files online here: https://assets.adobe.com/files.

If applicable, here is how to download your Synced files content. Note that after March 3, 2025, the files in the Creative Cloud Synced Files folder will be permanently deleted:

• Visit assets.adobe.com
• Click the “Launch More” button located in the bottom left corner of the website.
• A prompt will open; select “Synced Files.”
• You will be redirected to a page with a disclaimer stating that file syncing is ending.
• There will be an option to create a ZIP file containing all items in the cloud on the sync folder. (If you do not have any content in Creative Cloud Synced Files, the button will not be visible.)
• Once the ZIP file(s) is created, a download button will appear, allowing you to download your data.
• The duration of this process depends on the number of files being backed up.

Important: If your Creative Cloud Desktop version is less than 6.4, you must make a copy or export files from your local Creative Cloud Files folder to your chosen destination. Otherwise, they will be deleted from your local Creative Cloud Files folder when cloud copies are deleted.

Our volume license agreement for GraphPad Prism has been renewed, and as of today, licenses purchased through OIT will expire on January 24, 2026.

If you purchased a license on or after October 24, 2024, you have been sent a renewal license at no additional cost.

Please visit https://software.duke.edu to purchase licensing through OIT.  The cost of a license is $60 per computer.

Duke’s site license for ScreenConnect has been renewed. The new license key is now available for Duke IT Staff with an existing ScreenConnect server instance. To obtain access to the new license key please contact the OIT Service Desk.

OIT is no longer supporting new server instances of ScreenConnect.

Important Note: If you currently have a ScreenConnect instance running, once the license is renewed, you will need to apply the new license key within 72 hours.

We have renewed our NVivo site license. NVivo 14 is now available the activation key and license information are available on the OIT software distribution site here.

This software will expire on January 1, 2026.  NVivo software supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organize, and analyze content from interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, audio, social media and web pages. With NVivo you can deeply analyze your data using powerful search, query and visualization tools.

We currently offer NVivo 14 for Windows and macOS.

NVivo software is centrally funded by Duke OIT and is available to Duke faculty, staff, and students at no cost.
