Congratulations to our PhD student Austin Maduka for being awarded the prestigious NIH F30 Ruth L. Kirschstein National Research Service fellowship. This 4-year fellowship supports promising doctoral candidates who will perform dissertation research and training for an M.D./Ph.D. degree in a scientific health-related field. His project is entitled “Defining Novel Roles of Ubiquitin Accumulation During the Mammalian Oxidative Stress Response” and will investigate the molecular details of localized translation mediated by protein ubiquitination.
