About Me

I am a Ph.D. student in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Duke University. I am currently advised by Dr. Maria Gorlatova in the Intelligent Interactive Internet of Things (I^3T) Lab, leading medical Augmented Reality (AR) and Internet of Things (IoT) projects as a primary researcher.

I have a diverse research background ranging from robotics to IoT, and now in AR and healthcare. Through working on projects in these fields, I have successfully published publications in IEEE IoT Journal, ICRA, ISMAR, and VR as a first author. My current research interests are integrating AR into various medical applications such as neurosurgery, ophthalmology, and mental health, to provide guidance to users (e.g., surgeons, medical students, or patients) in both training and clinical settings.

In the past, I received a B.S. (with distinction, minor in Electronics and Time-Based Art) degree in Electrical Engineering Technology and an M.S. degree in Engineering Technology, both from Purdue University (West Lafayette, IN). At Purdue, I worked with Dr. Richard Voyles in the Collaborative Robotics Lab on the Internet of Kitchen Things, building an ontological semantic-based IoT network for smart kitchen devices and developing a novel smart food container embedded with sensors. On this topic, I defended my master’s thesis in TupperwareEarth: Knowledge-Based Ontological Semantics for the “Internet of Kitchen Things.”
