On April 2, 2024, Duke University’s Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability will be co-hosting a webinar via its National Ecosystem Services Partnership (NESP) called, “New U.S. Army Corps Rule, New Possibilities for Water Resources Projects.”
Per communication from Nicholas Institute and NESP, the webinar will feature a “panel discussion exploring how and why… updated [agency specific procedures] came to be, the implications of the [agency specific procedures] update for water resource projects, and how [the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers] project partners expect to be able to leverage the updated rule to better provide multibenefit projects.”
The event will be moderated by Lydia Olander, Ph.D., who is the Program Director of the Nicholas Institute for Energy, Environment & Sustainability and a RESILE affiliate. Dr. Olander is Co-PI of the Center for Innovation in Risk-analysis for Climate Adaptation and Decision-making (CIRCAD). RESILE serves as CIRCAD’s managing entity at its Duke University lead site.
Also featured will be Professor Todd Bridges, Ph.D., of the University of Georgia. In addition to being a Professor of Practice and Associate Director for Public-Private Partnerships at the Institute for Resilient Infrastructure Systems at the University of Georgia, Dr. Bridges is the Site Director of the University of Georgia’s CIRCAD partner site.
