Director of Finance
Keanan Jenkins (J.D. ’27)
Keanan Jenkins (he/him) is from Scottsdale, AZ. He graduated from Arizona State University with a BS in Chemical Engineering. He expects to work in Palo Alto, CA after Duke Law.
Before law school, Keanan worked in Software Consulting. During her 1L summer, Keanan worked as a Summer Associate at Mission Law. For his 2L summer, Keanan will be a Summer Associate at Simpson Thacher. His legal interests are focused on General Corporate and I.P./transactional work.
For Keanan, one of the main priorities regarding the LGBT+ community is providing support, increasing acceptance, and connecting on shared experiences. Keanan’s favorite color is Deep Red, because it’s dark and fiery. Some of his favorite shows/movies are Parasite and Avatar: the Last Airbender. One of his favorite artists are Chopin. A fun fact about Keanan is that he loves to make my own perfumes.

Ari Jones (J.D. ’27)
Ari Jones (they/them) is from Ewing, New Jersey. They graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Anthropology.
Before law school, they worked as a summer associate recruiter at White & Case in New York City. In addition to their involvement in OutLaw, Ari also serves as Co-President of the Older, Wiser Law Students Association and is a member of Black Law Students Association and First Generation Professionals.
Ari’s favorite genre of music is rap. Ari is a foodie and is working on refining their palate by exploring new cuisines and practicing new dishes. Ari loves manicures, shopping, baking, and watching Survivor. Ari’s favorite LGBT artist is Doechii.

Hana Qasrawi (J.D. ’27)
Hana Qasrawi (she/her) is from Vienna, Virginia. She graduated from the University of Virginia with a BA in Government and History Minor in Public Policy. Before law school, Hana worked as a Paralegal Specialist in the Criminal Section of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division. She is open to practicing in many locations.
She is interested in public Interest, legal aid, public defense, labor law. During her 1L summer, she worked at Legal Services Vermont.
One of the most important parts of the LGBT+ community for Hana is her chosen family. She also thinks that the music gay people make is amazing. One of her favorite artists is Beyoncé. Hana enjoys anything about RuPauls Drag Race. Her favorite color is Green because “it looks really good on me.” A fun fact about Hana is that she has over 90 plants in her apartment.

Cassandra Silva Salas (J.D. ’27)
Cassandra Silva Salas (she/her) is from the The Colony, TX, USA. She graduated from Austin College with a BA in Gender Studies: BA in Political Science. Before law school, she worked as an office administrator at the headquarters of a construction company. She expects to work in Dallas, TX after Duke Law.
1L and (incoming) 2L summers at Sidley Austin in Dallas. She wants to focus on litigation, specifically white collar/investigative work. Some of her favorite artists/albums are ¿teo? (artist), thee sacred souls (album), and Charmed (the 90s version) for tv show. A fun fact about Cassandra is that she loves to go hiking! One time in college, she hiked 15 miles in the National Park Nahuel Huapi in Argentina! (She thought we were signing up for a 6 mile hike by the way)

Ali Hurst (J.D. ’27)
Ali Hurst (she/her) is from Dallas, Texas. She graduated from Duke University with BAs in Biology and Black Studies.
She spent her 1L summer at Brooklyn Defender Services in the Family Defense Practice, and plans to spend her 2L summer at the Federal Defenders of New York. She is interested in public defense and expects to work in NYC after law school.
Ali’s favorite part of the LGBT+ community is lesbianism, and she has a lavender tattoo. One of her favorite artists is Bob Dylan, her favorite show is RuPaul’s Drag Race, and her favorite movie is The Matrix. A fun fact about Ali is that she has hiked eight 14ers!

Caroline Wolinsky (J.D. ’27)
Caroline Wolinsky (she/her) is from Tenafly, New Jersey. She graduated from Tufts University with BA in International Relations. Before law school, Caroline worked at a global refugee agency in DC.
During her 1L summer, she was a Peggy Browning Fellow at the National Federation of Federal Employees. Caroline is interested in Civil Rights, Labor, and Litigation. She expects to work in NYC after Duke Law.
Caroline met her best law school friend at the first OutLaw event (shoutout Ali Hurst). Her favorite color is Blue because of the Blue Devils. Some of her favorite artists are The Cranberries and David Bowie. One of her favorite shows is The Bear. A fun fact about Caroline is that she crocheted a giant sandwich purse during 1L.
3L Representative
Evan Ortiz (J.D. ’26)
Evan Ortiz is from Houston, Texas. In undergrad, he studied Government and Political Communications at the University of Texas at Austin (ask them about Bevo, please).
Before law school, Evan worked in Accounts Receivables at a law firm and was a speech instructor at his alma mater (he really loves UT). In their first year, Evan was a 1L Rep for OutLaw and First-Generation Professionals. He also served on the Curriculum Committee with the Duke Bar Association. Evan also competed in all three interscholastic 1L competitions: Transactional Law Competition, Mock Trial, and Moot Court.
Last summer, Evan interned at Baker Botts in Houston as a Rufus Cormier Diversity Fellow. Evan’s favorite LGBT artist is Björk! Evan loves Stephen King horror novels and baking cookies. His favorite music genre is intelligent dance music.
3L Representative
Scott Tompetrini (J.D. ’26)
Scott Tompetrini is originally from Wyckoff, NJ. During undergrad, he studied Government and History at the College of William & Mary. Before law school, he worked as a grant writer for a grant consulting firm in New York State.
At Duke, Scott is involved with Outlaw and the Human Rights Pro Bono Program. During the summer of 2024, Scott worked as a legal intern at the U.S. Department of Transportation in Washington DC. During the summer of 2025, he will be worked as a summer associate for Freshfields in their New York office.
Outside of law school Scott enjoys trip planning, trashy reality tv, museum hopping, and watching sports. Scott’s queer icon is currently Tinashe, and his favorite music genre is R&B.
