Welcome to the Moreno-Hernandez Lab!

We are a group of electrochemists interested in advancing renewable energy technologies to create a sustainable future. Our primary tool is liquid phase transmission electron microscopy, a technique that allows us to directly observe the structural dynamics of electrochemical materials in real time at near-atomic resolution. We complement this technique with a wide set of techniques and materials synthesis tools that allow us to synthesize nanomaterials with nanoscale precision, enabling systematic studies of the relationship between nanoscale structure and macroscale properties. In addition to our research efforts, we aim to create an inclusive environment that embraces the lived experiences of each group member and provides support for ongoing personal growth.
