THE NIGHT OPERATOR

Film Screening April 5 at 3:00 PM
Rubenstein Arts Center Film Theater

The Night Operator follows a train station surveillance operator seen her memory on the monitors. By embedding cinematic images within CCTV systems, the work explores how memory emerges when observation no longer leads to action. Surveillance footage becomes an operational image of time, where past and present coexist, and presence leaves no stable record, only a temporary visibility within systems of control.

I am a filmmaker. My practice is driven by interested in how stories take shape through images over time. I work across narrative cinema, experimental moving image, and image-based research. Many of my projects begin with personal or observed moments, fragments of lived experience that resist immediate narrative resolution and develop through formal exploration into cinematic structures.
