Hi, welcome to my personal page. My name is Alex Vaughan and I am a 1st year MS student in Duke’s Mechanical Engineering and Material Science program. I am interested in anything related to science, technology, and mathematics especially dynamics, aircraft performance, modal analysis, and math education. I am a member of Duke AERO’s avionics and solid propulsion teams as well as Duke Hyperloop. I also do research under Professor Earl Dowell in Duke’s Aeroelasticity Group.

In my free time, I like to fish, kayak, water ski, and play baseball. Here are some links to some of the work I have done.

ABSORPTION LASER SPECTROSCOPY: MEASURING THE HYPERFINE SPLITTINGS OF RUBIDIUM’S GROUND STATE
EXPERIMENTS IN VACUUM TECHNIQUES: MEASURING THE MEAN SPEED OF AIR
LITERATURE REVIEW ON OCEAN CURRENTS AND THERMOHALINE CIRCULATION MODELING
SYMMETRY AND CONSTRUCTION OF CAYLEY-SUDOKU PUZZLES: A GROUP THEORETIC APPROACH
ANALYSIS OF A TECHNIQUE FOR DESIGNING ELECTRICAL GRIDS VIA LINEAR PROGRAMMING
