Salomon thinks that there are more programs available to support the Latino/a community now. He says that although many Latinos believe that they will return to their native country after awhile, once they start to build a family in the US and see that their children will have better opportunities here then they decide to stay. He states that the situation in El Salvador continues to be bad and now there are serious safety concerns because of gang violence. The poverty, lack of jobs, and violence in El Salvador make it very difficult to live there now.
