We’re honored to share that the Associate of Women in Business was named the 2025 MBA Campus Award Winner by the Forté Foundation! This award honors the incredible advocacy, programming, and support that AWIB has provided last year.  

OUR mission

The vision of Duke Fuqua’s Association of Women in Business (AWIB) is “Helping Women+ Succeed in the Business World.” We are a professional development club for Fuqua students that provides career support, promotes connections among the community, and raises awareness of the unique issues and challenges that women+ face in the workplace.

AWIB is the largest student organization at Fuqua, representing 450+ members from around the world across industries like Consulting, Tech, Finance, Healthcare and more. Our mission is to empower women+ through leadership development, mentorship, and inclusive community - and we continue to grow in both scale and impact. Over the past year, AWIB:

Hosted 45+ events including flagship panels, leadership workshops, and DE&I programming
Engaged 130+ prospective students at Women’s Leadership Weekend
Launched initiatives such as the Motherhood Cabinet and intersectional allyship programming
Partnered with top firms to co-host industry panels, candid chats, and community dinners

Our Activities

Recruiting the Next Generation of Women Leaders at Fuqua

We host our annual Women’s Leadership Weekend for prospective students, as well as create Women’s programming during admitted students’ Blue Devil Weekend.

Helping Women at Fuqua Achieve their Professional Aspirations

We maintain a robust calendar of events in partnership with employers committed to advancing inclusive talent pipelines. Our efforts focus on connecting students with organizations that actively support gender equity in the workplace.

Developing a Community for Women within Fuqua

We connect students through creating programming such as “Dinner with Six Strangers” to provide opportunities for women to build ties with each other.

Leading Conversations in the Fuqua Community about Women in Business

We have established meaningful ways for male allies to engage with AWIB through a variety of events, including hosting a Male Ambassador Program-led discussion of the gender climate at Fuqua.
