ALMA is the official American Latinx Management Association student club at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business.
ALMA’s mission is to build a diverse, inclusive, and collaborative space to promote fellowship and professional development for the underrepresented Latinx community while celebrating American Latinx culture.
In 1982, the Black and Latino MBA Organization (BLMBAO) was established at the Fuqua School of Business to support its members with the resources and opportunities needed to grow into successful business leaders.
After decades of building a shared community for both Black and Latinx students, the organization evolved to better serve each group’s unique needs. In 2023, this transition led to the creation of two separate organizations: ALMA and BBSA (Black Business Student Association)
ALMA carries forward this legacy by fostering a strong, inclusive community for Latinx students at Fuqua. The organization is dedicated to empowering its members, strengthening connections, and supporting their personal and professional growth throughout their MBA experience.
