Number our Days | Advent December 15, 2018

December 15, 2018

Charlie Daniel ’20

Psalm 90:1-4, 12

The days of December can be short, lost between the pages of our studies and the brief passage of the sun through the sky. As we travel home for time to spend with family, the days can lengthen, even as the daily pattern of light and darkness does not. Our focuses turn away from work and toward relationships with those who know us best. In these and through these relationships, God works to strengthen in each of us “a heart of wisdom.” In these and through these relationships, God brings us closer to our dwelling place in Him.

Prayer:
Dear Lord, thank you for the opportunities presented to us by the holiday season – opportunities to spend time in fellowship with family and with you. Fill us with the wisdom to number our days not by the tasks we complete, but by the relationships we build. Guide us to communion with others, and through such intimacy to better see and understand you. Lead us to find dwelling places in our relationships with others; and through these, a home in you. Amen.
