Congratulations to Virginia Wang, PhD, MSPH, and Matthew Maciejewski, PhD, who gave a poster presentation at the Academy Health Annual Research Meeting in Minneapolis earlier this June. The poster presentation, “Impacts of Geographic Distance to Dialysis Provider on Patient Utilization of Peritoneal Dialysis,” examined the association between distance to nearest dialysis facility services and uptake of peritoneal dialysis, a treatment for patients with end-stage renal disease. Their research found that the likelihood for peritoneal dialysis was associated with both absolute distance and relative distance for locations offering alternative treatments.
