An introduction to moment-angle manifolds

Abstract: Lopez de Medrano, Verjovsky and Meersseman introduced a class of non-Kahler compact, complex manifolds, now called LV-M manifolds, which can be obtained as the norm minima of certain smooth foliation. It turns out that this class of manifolds, as well as their topological generalizations, also naturally appeared and has been studied by other groups of people working on transformation groups and algebraic geometry. Now we call such manifolds as moment-angle manifolds (introduced by Buchstaber and Panov). In this talk we will discuss some topological properties of moment-angle manifolds.
