Flash Video’s Epitaph

In case there was any doubt that Flash video (.flv and .f4v) was dead at the hands of MP4, there is certainly none any longer. The new version of Adobe Media Encoder doesn’t even offer presets for exporting to Flash.

As Jan Ozer writes in the article linked above, “FLV files using the old VP6 codec have many disadvantages compared to H.264, and no advantages, and it’s definitely time to leave that codec/format behind.”
