Screen Shot 2014-03-28 at 11.23.57 AMOur Logitech rep, Warren Widener recently stopped by so we could check out their new ConferenceCam CC3300e.  The system features a 10x PTZ camera and tabletop speakerphone which connects to computer via one USB connection.   It supports up to 1080p, but that is software dependent.  All the apps we tested received 720p from the camera. Check out their website for more product specifics.

We set up the camera on top of our conference room display and placed the speakerphone (and connection box) on our conference table.  We tested the system with every conferencing and recording app we could think of (Cisco Jabber, WebEx, Panopto, Skype, Google Hangouts, etc.).  All apps  were able to use the camera and speakerphone with no problems, and audio and video quality were great.  This system which lists for under $1,000 would be great for small to medium sized meeting rooms and classrooms.  It adds conferencing and recording capabilities to a room without the need for spending a lot of money on hardware and AV integration.  The only limitation we saw was with the length of the cable from the camera to connection box which is 15′.  Warren said for them to receive Microsoft Lync certification they could not go any longer, but this may change in the future.
