ConnectWise has announced a new critical vulnerability for the administrative side of ScreenConnect. This vulnerability is rated as a CVSS 10.0 and can be remotely exploited without credentials. Affected versions are ScreenConnect 23.9.7 and prior. This only applies to the server side application and not the ScreenConnect client.

The OIT and Trinity-managed ScreenConnect services have already been patched. If anyone else is operating a ScreenConnect server, you must patch it immediately. We expect this vulnerability will be exploited by bad actors very soon.

Our volume license agreement for GraphPad Prism has been renewed, and as of today, licenses purchased through OIT will expire on January 24, 2025.

If you purchased a license on or after October 24, 2023, you have been sent a renewal license at no additional cost.

We are pleased to announce that SPSS Statistics 29.0.2 is now available for download on the software distribution site. SPSS Statistics 29.0.2 includes a fix which resolves the issue preventing the software from running on MacOS 14.0 (Sonoma).

IBM SPSS Statistics licenses are available for purchase through OIT for $100 per computer, per year.  https://software.duke.edu/node/178.

Annual licenses are not prorated, and they expire on a fixed date that does not coincide with the date of purchase or calendar year.

We have renewed our NVivo site license. NVivo 14 is now available the activation key and license information are available on the OIT software distribution site here.

This software will expire on January 1, 2025.  NVivo software supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organize, and analyze content from interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, audio, social media and web pages. With NVivo you can deeply analyze your data using powerful search, query and visualization tools.

We currently offer NVivo 14 for Windows and macOS.

NVivo software is centrally funded by Duke OIT and is available to Duke faculty, staff, and students at no cost.

We have renewed Duke’s X-WIN32 and FastX site license, and the new license keys are now available on our software distribution site here.

JMP Pro 17.2 for Windows and MacOS is now available through OIT at no cost. This is a maintenance update designed to fix identified problems with JMP Pro 17.

Duke’s site license for Wolfram Mathematica has been renewed.

Single-user licenses generated through the Wolfram Portal have been automatically renewed, and no additional steps are needed.  Emails were sent out to all registered users (one per key) indicating that the activation key has been extended.

Those managing computers with the lab version of the software installed will need to visit the OIT Software Licensing site and order the software again to view the updated lab keys.​

Duke’s MathWorks license has been renewed, and new installations of the software will expire on August 1, 2024.

The New Duke MathWorks portal is now available. The license activation process has changed eliminating the use of activation keys. MATLAB now uses Duke SSO login to access downloads and activate the software, instructions can be found here.

Installations pointing to a license server will not be renewed until the server license is renewed.  OIT Software Licensing does not manage any license servers for MATLAB.
