About TRECC

The Translational Research Concepts and Careers program is a project initiated by the Education and Workforce Development Core of the Duke Clinical and Translational Science Institute. The team recruited experts from across Duke to participate in interviews that describe some of the various careers and opportunities that exist in translational research today. With the help of these experts, the TRECC team developed a curriculum of online modules and resources to serve as an introduction to fundamental translational research concepts.

Why TRECC?

To make translational research more impactful, there is a need for a more sizeable and diverse workforce. There are a myriad of potential careers (beyond researchers/principal investigators) that make up the research enterprise, all of which play a crucial role in the scientific symphony. The hope is that this curriculum will engage prospective research professionals and inspire them to pursue meaningful paths within the translational research enterprise.
