We are pulling together individuals (student, faculty, staff, you name it!) from across campus who participate in STEAM as a part of their activities on campus. These folks will hopefully serve as mentors and guides for others to develop and participate in STEAM at Duke.
The intersection of science, technology, engineering, the arts and humanities, and mathematics (STEAM) is incredibly important in how we understand the world around us. Increasingly, there is the need for reuniting the arts and humanities with STEM in education. At Duke, STEAM takes place in so many amazing forms—from student-led projects, campus initiatives, interdisciplinary courses, creative workshops, and more!
The STEAMbassadors program is all about raising the visibility of STEAM on campus, fostering mentorship and collaboration, and highlighting who on campus is doing STEAM. Here, you’ll see the faces of the students, faculty, and staff who are our inaugural group of STEAMbassadors. Explore the ways they think about STEAM & its importance both here and in our sister gallery space in [The Ruby (for exhibit in BC)/ The Bryan Center (for exhibit in the Ruby)].
The STEAMbassadors program is a collaboration between STEAM@Duke, duArts [other groups we need to mention?]. We would like to thank Connie Zhou, Francesqa Santos, Irene Qiao, Jordan Anderson, and Dr. Ariana Eily for their efforts in this initiative. Portraits created by Irene Qiao.
