IBM SPSS Statistics Renewed

Duke’s annual license for IBM SPSS Statistics has been renewed, and the new licenses will expire on July 31, 2023. Renewal codes are available for versions 26 and 27 of SPSS Statistics, and new installations of SPSS 28 (64-bit only) are also available.

If you purchased an SPSS license on or after May 1, 2022, you will be sent renewal authorization codes by email that may be used to extend the expiration date of your software.

IBM SPSS Statistics Premium licenses are available for purchase through OIT for $100 per computer, per year.  https://software.duke.edu/node/178

Annual licenses are not prorated, and they expire on a fixed date that does not coincide with the date of purchase or calendar year.

MATLAB License Renewed

Duke’s MathWorks license has been renewed, and new installations of the software will expire on August 1, 2023.

Detailed renewal instructions for all versions of MATLAB, including links to license files and PLPs, can be found here

Anyone with a standalone installation of version 2008a and newer can renew by launching MATLAB as an administrator and then going to Help -> Update Current Licenses and clicking Update.

Installations pointing to a license server will not be renewed until the server license is renewed.  OIT Software Licensing does not manage any license servers for MATLAB.

Maple 2022 now available

We have renewed Duke’s Maplesoft license and Maple 2022 is now available for download on the software distribution site here: https://software.duke.edu/node/122

Faculty and staff may download Maple software at no cost and use it on Duke-owned and personally owned computers for Duke purposes. Students may purchase a personal perpetual license for $35.
Maple is a powerful interactive computer algebra system that provides a complete mathematical environment for the manipulation of symbolic algebraic expressions, arbitrary-precision numerics, both two-dimensional and three-dimensional graphics, and programming.

New think-cell license key available

A new think-cell license key is available.  The new key will expire on 7/1/23. This software is available for use by Duke University faculty, staff, and students for Duke-related academic purposes only. The distribution or use of this key outside of Duke will result in a permanent loss of the software for the university.

think-cell is a Microsoft Office add-in which integrates seamlessly with PowerPoint and helps you to visualize complex charts like Marimekko, Gantt and waterfall within minutes.

Stata/SE Licenses Renewed

We have renewed Duke’s annual Stata/SE license for the year, and the new authorization codes and installers are now available for purchase on the software distribution site here: https://software.duke.edu/node/181

If you purchased a Stata/SE license within 3 months of the expiration date, then your purchase includes a renewal license that may be used to extend the expiration date of your software until July 23, 2023. Renewal authorization codes/installers will be emailed to anyone who purchased Stata/SE within this grace period.

Updated ePrint packages now available

Updated ePrint packages for Windows, Mac, and Specific campus locations are now available for download on the software distribution site: https://software.duke.edu/node/77

If you already have installed ePrint on your computer, please uninstall it completely and then delete any ePrint local printers on your computer before running the installer.
