OIT Software Licensing

Duke’s annual license for IBM SPSS Statistics has been renewed, and the new licenses will expire on July 31, 2024. Renewal codes are available for versions 26, 27, and 28 of SPSS Statistics, and new installations of SPSS 29 (64-bit only) are also available.

If you purchased an SPSS license on or after May 1, 2023, you will be sent renewal authorization codes by email that may be used to extend the expiration date of your software.

IBM SPSS Statistics Premium licenses are available for purchase through OIT for $100 per computer, per year.  https://software.duke.edu/node/178

Annual licenses are not prorated, and they expire on a fixed date that does not coincide with the date of purchase or calendar year.

think-cell license has changed the process for obtaining license keys.

Access to the software will now be requested through think-cell directly and they will email license keys.

Think-cell is a Microsoft Office add-in that integrates seamlessly with PowerPoint and helps you to visualize complex charts like Marimekko, Gantt, and waterfall within minutes.

New Duke MathWorks portal is now available. The license activation process has changed eliminating the use of activation keys. MATLAB now uses Duke SSO login to access downloads and activate the software.

EndNote 21 is now available at no cost through OIT Software Licensing for Windows and MacOS.

Jabber Clients 14.1.4 for Windows and 14.1.4 for MacOS are now available for download on the software distribution site: https://software.duke.edu/node/95.  This update addresses audio issues with the previous clients.

The new SAS release resolves the Log4j vulnerability. SAS 9.4 M8 is now available for download, and has been updated to the latest version (SAS 9.4 TS1M8, Rev. 940_23w05).

The new licenses will extend the expiration date of the software to June 30, 2023.

Our volume license agreement for GraphPad Prism has been renewed, and as of today, licenses purchased through OIT will expire on January 24, 2024.

If you purchased a license on or after October 24, 2022, you have been sent a renewal license at no additional cost.

Please visit https://software.duke.edu to purchase licensing through OIT.  The cost of a license is $50 per computer.

We have renewed our site license for NVivo 12. The new activation key and license information is now available on the OIT software distribution site here.

This software will expire on January 1, 2024.  NVivo software supports qualitative and mixed methods research. It lets you collect, organize, and analyze content from interviews, focus group discussions, surveys, audio, social media and web pages. With NVivo you can deeply analyze your data using powerful search, query and visualization tools.

We currently offer NVivo 12 only for Windows and macOS.

For Windows you can renew your license by going to File > Help > Manage License > Replace License

For macOS you can renew your license by going to NVivo 12 > Licensing > Replace License

NVivo software is centrally funded by Duke OIT and is available to Duke faculty, staff, and students at no cost.
