Winclone & Boot Runner
OIT Software Licensing is evaluating the products Winclone and Boot Runner as potential new site license purchases.
Winclone allows you to easily image your bootcamp partition on your Mac. Boot Runner allows you to quickly and easily manage booting into the Mac OS, Windows and/or Linux Environments.
We are collecting data to determine if a centrally-funded site license for these products makes sense. Please have a look at the software and provide comments at the public Duke wiki page (https://wiki.duke.edu/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=65110506) to help us with the decision. The more responses, the better.
Additional MATLAB offerings
The folks at the MathWorks have extended offers to Duke to purchase self-paced online training vouchers in bulk and to add students to the site license.
In the case of training, they are offering seats of their MATLAB Fundamentals and MATLAB Programming Techniques online courses at a discount. We would like to determine if the courses are something that people would buy through OIT if the discount were available.
Please comment on the Duke wiki here: MATLAB Self-Paced Training to help us determine if there is enough interest at Duke to offer these discounts.
In the case of MATLAB for Students, we would like to collect data to determine whether or not to add students to the campus license. This would allow students to install MATLAB on their personal computers at no individual cost.
Please comment on the Duke wiki page for this at : MATLAB for Students to help us determine if this would make sense. The more comments, the better.
We would also like to request that you participate in a short, anonymous survey about MATLAB at Duke: https://duke.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_3W1nYZ4uiEPD22F
