The latest version of TreeSize Professional is now available as a free download for faculty, staff, and students.

TreeSize Professional is a powerful and flexible hard disk space manager for Windows 8/7/Vista/XP or Windows Server 2012/2008/2003 (32 or 64 Bit).  Bugs found in version 6.0 have been fixed and some minor improvements have been included.

SAS 9.4 is now available at no cost to Duke faculty, staff, and students.  SAS 9.4 is 64-bit only, and cannot be installed on computers with 32-bit operating systems.

Statgraphics Centurion XVI.II, the newest version of Statpoint’s flagship Windows-based general purpose statistical software package, adds dozens of features requested by users.

Statgraphics Centurion XVI.II offers 4 new summary statistics, 10 new operators (8 for character data and 2 for numeric values), one-sided and two-sided statistical tolerance limits for additional distributions, enhanced normal probability plots, expanded use of the mouse wheel on graphs, and 3 features of special interest to companies regulated by the Food and Drug Administration: Automatic audit trails and the ability to add user signatures and passwords to project files.

The newest version of the Lasergene Core Suite is now available as a no-cost download to Duke faculty, staff, and students.

This version includes many new features for DNASTAR’s new multiple sequence alignment module – MegAlign Pro.  This features the MUSCLE, Clustal Omega, and Mauve alignment algorithms including other advanced features that are not currently available in the classic MegAlign software.

New products are now available through the VMWare Academic Program: VMware Fusion 6 and VMware Workstation 10.

Under this program, VMware grants to Duke faculty, staff, and students a nonexclusive, term license to use the Software to use an unlimited number of copies of the software solely for the educational, instructional and non-commercial research purposes of Duke.  Lab installers can also be downloaded and used under the program.  Software obtained through this program may not be used for Duke IT or administrative processing and computing purposes.

The free Licenses available to program members are 365-day (or longer in some cases) evaluation licenses that require a one-time, annual download.  Annual product downloads ensure that members receive the most up to date versions of products and also allows VMware to better maintain accurate member data.  Faculty and staff are eligible for renewals.  Students will not be able to renew, however, they may obtain discounted licenses by visiting VMware’s Academic store.

Discounted licenses for usage not covered in this agreement (administrative, IT, etc.) are available through the VMware Academic Store or the Duke Technology Center.
