The version of X-Win being distributed on the OIT website has been updated from build 79 to build 154. You can get X-Win 32 here: http://www.oit.duke.edu/comp-print/software/license/detail.php?id=119.
Some users may have received the following error message: “The application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect”. Build 154 should fix this issue.
The manufacturer’s web site (starnet.com) provided the information on what went wrong. Evidently, an April 12, 2011 security update from Microsoft for visual C++ broke compatibility with xwin-32. The details are at:
