There have been changes in the site license agreement with ESRI for ArcGIS, and the software, with certain restrictions, may now be installed on faculty and student personal computers in addition to all Duke-owned computers on campus.
Faculty members at Duke may install ArcGIS software on their personally owned computers for the specific purpose of learning, becoming proficient with, and developing curricula or research expertise around the programs. ArcGIS Desktop 10 software may be deployed on registered students’ personal computers.
There is now a student download page for ArcGIS which has ArcGIS desktop software available for download, and the faculty/staff page information has been updated to indicate that faculty members may install it on their personal computers.
